Monster in Waikiki (not Godzilla)

This is the Ritz Carlton west tower as viewed from the Waikiki post office. They next will build the east tower to the right. All units will have ocean view. But they are taking the ocean view away from many other properties.

ワイキキのポストオフィスから見える建設中のリッツカールトン西タワーです。その右側には東タワーも予定されています。全室がオーシャンビューになるんですよ。BUT、、、リッツカールトンは多くの不動産所有者から、そのオーシャンビューを奪ってしまいました。

Ritz Carlton

The 37-floor Ritz Carlton west side tower will be completed in Spring 2016, and the east side of the tower will be finished in 2017. It takes only a minute to walk thee from where we live; we are looking forward to see the change in the neighbohood.

37階建てになるリッツカールトン西タワーは2016年の春、2017年には東タワーも完成の予定です。ここから徒歩1分ですが、この辺りがどんな風になるか今から楽しみです。

What a view

This is a view from the top of the Waikiki Grand Hotel. We were surprised to hear that a parking stall  sold for $75,000 

ワイキキグランドホテルの屋上からの景観です。駐車場 (1台分) が$75,000で売却されたとは驚きです。

Banyan Breeze

We like this coffee shop the best in Waikiki. It has a relaxing atmosphere and free WiFi. It is located inside the Waikiki Banyan condominiums.

ワイキキで1番好きなコーヒーショップは、WiFi無料で落ち着いた雰囲気のバニヤン ブリーズ。場所はワイキキバニヤンの1階です。

A studio with Mural

We went to look at an unit that has a large mural on the wall.  You can see the canal and mountains from the lanai, nice breeze of tradewinds; the Heliconia leaves looks like they were moving.

今日は、ハレコニアの壁画がとても印象的なユニットの見学へ。広いラナイからは運河や山が見渡せ、貿易風が清々しくハレコニアの葉も揺れてるように感じられました。

New International Marketplace

Construction is moving along on the new International Marketplace. Many tourists enjoyed the casual tropical atmosphere of the old Marketplace.

It will be a 3 story building with open spaces. They are building around the big tree. There will be a Sax Fifth Avenue, 75 retail shops and restaurants.

庶民的でトロピカルな雰囲気が観光客に親しまれていたインターナショナルマーケットプレイスの跡地は、現在ニュープロジェクトの工事中です。

あの見事な大木バニヤンの周りに、３階建てのオープンスペースのビルが建設される予定で「サックス・フィフス・アベニュー」を始め、７５の小売店やレストランが入店するとのことです。

Mai Tai Bar

We went to the Mai Tai Bar at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel with our guests today. It is one of the best locations in Waikiki: by the sea, the sound of Hawaiian music and waves, mai tais; we really enjoyed the evening.
