Kalakaua street

What a cute classic car in front of the Luana Hotel! 

I never noticed it before even though I have walked by there many times.

ルアナ ワイキキ ホテルの前に、こんな可愛いクラシックカーが、、、

何度もその前を通っているのですが、今まで気がつきませんでした。

Kalakaua Street is always clean and beautiful. The reason is they clean it early in the morning. I asked the cleaning guy what he used and he said bleach and water. That made me remember that a hotel manager told me that they use undiluted bleach to treat showers. I used to use a tooth brush and got SOOOO tired. That is why I don't llke cleaning!!!!

My dream house would have an automated vacuum system that did a perfect job without me having to do anything! I hope I will live to see it.

ワイキキの歩道は、いつも綺麗です。

朝早くから、いつも清掃しているからです。作業中のおじさんに聞いたところ、スプレーの中身は、ブリーチとのこと。

そういえば先日、シャワールームのカビもブリーチをスプレーすれば綺麗になると、ホテルの従業員さんから聞いたばかり。それまでは歯ブラシをつかって、ゴシゴシ、そのためクタクタに疲れてしまって、お掃除は大嫌い、、、。将来住みたい家は、床の隅々に吸引機があって、スイッチを入れれば自動的に掃除してくれる家です。それまで生きてられるかなー？

We went to the Hongwanji for obon today. The priest that we liked moved to Kauai but there was a new young one today. We liked his chanting. 

本願寺へお盆参り

今までお世話になっていたお坊さんは、カウアイ島でのお勤めになりました。

それで今日は、島根県から来たばかりの若いお坊さんにお経を上げていただきました。

In the afternoon we went to look at properties with a new client that I met in Japan. We looked at the Marco Polo which looks a lot like a hotel. 

午後は、お客様と物件の見学へ

After we looked at a bunch of properties we went to Waiola Shave Ice for refreshment. The ice there is very fine, like powder snow; they have many different ingredients to choose from, even azuki beans. 

物件見学の後は、地元の人気店ワイオラ シェイブアイスで一服。

氷のきめが細かく、粉雪のように柔らか、種類も豊富で小豆入りまであります。美味しかった！

Hurricane Iselle

Quiet time before the storm----.

Usually there are many people in the swimming pool watching the sunset in Waikiki. However, this evening there was nobody there. I went out to buy a flashlight before the storm arrives in Honolulu but they were sold out at the super market but I found one at an ABC store on the way back home.

嵐の前の静けさ、、、いつものワイキキなら、まだたくさんの人がプールに入って、サンセットを楽しんでいいるのですが、今夜は誰もいません。

ハリケーンがホノルルに上陸する前に、フラッシュライトを買わなくちゃと、スーパーまで出かけたのですが売り切れでした。帰り道ABCストアでゲットし一安心。

My husband is working in Waikoloa Village on the Big Island. The wind is often strong there but tonight it is supposed to be about 70 miles/hour with gusts up to 90 MPH.  It is nice to have Hurricane insurance!!!!

ベランダの物を片付け、窓のカーテンを占めること。救助が必要な場合、もし電話が通じない時には叫ぶようにと、エレベーター内にもハリケーン警告。

夫は、ハワイ島のワイコロアに行っています。ワイコロアは強風が吹くことはありますが、ハリケーン上陸の今夜は風速70マイル（112キロ）、最大風速は90マイル（144キロ）の厳戒態勢です。ハリケーン保険に入っていて良かった！

22年前のハリケーン イニキ（カウアイ島）のようにならなければ良いのですが、、、。

進路がずれるか、勢力が弱まることを祈ります！

Our Music Room

Here is a photo of our music room. Bruddah Kuz, a Hawaiian band, rehearsed here when preparing to record their first CD, ³Talkin¹ Da Kine² at the world class recording studio.

The house will be sold on Tuesday.
